Todayโs modern world filled with lots of artificial and inorganic stuff which induces us to live like a robot. If someone wants to escape the hustle of city life, then the peaceful off-grid cabin which is completely disconnected from the rest of the world is a perfect choice. However, a lovely couple Marlena Jarjoura & Eugene build their own off-grid cabin in 2019 using the pier and beam method of building.
It was built as a guest house and Airbnb rental and itโs located about an hour southwest from Austin, Texas. Since this is Texas, so they have a lot of folks seeking a getaway from the city. Moreover, 80% of building materials were reclaimed or reused. Likewise, Eugene is the designer/builder and Marlena is an artist and making handmade jewelry.

So they have involved themselves to do all of the labor & building works. Above all, this house gets its energy and water from completely natural and renewable sources. That includes 1000 W solar systems and a 1500 gallon rainwater collection tank.
In short, It cost roughly $15,000 for materials to build this off-grid cabin. The kitchen of this build includes a small fridge, large sink, 2 burner gas stovetop, dining table, and a french press coffee maker. In addition, this off-grid heaven also features a wood stove and a backyard fire pit. There is a sky deck that offers a stunning view of the Hill Country, Blanco River Valley, and sunsets.
Further, you can rent this peaceful off-grid cabin for $120 per night on Airbnb. As said before, Marlena creates custom jewelry from her home studio in the hill country of Texas and selling them on her Etsy shop. Love their story, then follow them on Instagram here!
