We canโt really shrink some spaces when comes to tiny living. Most of the time the bedrooms occupy more space. Even more, some tiny hoses have a dedicated loft area for bedrooms. Meet the โTe Whare Nukunukuโ, a single-level tiny house with a retractable bed from BuildTiny.
However, this 6m long custom tiny house was designed for their client who has to travel all around the country. When they are not traveling, the couple plans to make it into a vacation home in their family section. Furthermore, because the client prefers the single-level simple design of BuildTinyโs prior model, โThe Camper,โ BuildTiny customizes this small home based on that model.
Also, they love the idea of a retractable bed, which means there is a queen size bed platform that is raised above the couch when not in use. When itโs time to sleep, the bed can be loweredย with the help of a hand crank pulley system. Otherwise, it can be set up as bunks over the convertible sofa bed. The sofaโs Lagun swivel table offers some value to an on-the-go workplace.
Exterior, it has vinyl cladding combined with color steel, double glazed aluminum windows. On the inside, it has lightweight poplar core plywood linings. Next to the bedroom/living area, there is a spacious kitchen with a hob and rangehood, dishwasher, sink, fold-up table, and a fridge.
The main entry, which has a glass door and a cat door, is located in the kitchen. After crossing the kitchen, there is a toilet with basin/vanity and wardrobe. Also, there is a shower with shower doom, and a storage loft right above. Further, this off-grid model has solar panel pieces of equipment. There are no specific pricing details for this custom single level tiny house. But, according to BuildTinyโs website, pricing for the typical turnkey tiny house is between $150,000-$170,000 NZD.
