The โWai-Itiโ is a custom tiny house design by a New Zealand-based firm Build Tiny. This complete turn-key model was built for their client located on the top of the South Island of NZ. The interesting part is, this unique tiny house on wheels features a small home office space in the bedroom. However, this compact and work-from-home-enabled tiny house measures 8m long x 2.4w x 4.2h.
Apart from the 301kg of removable items, the house measures 3750kgย (almost 8267lbs). Moreover, the โWai-Itiโ is based on a double axle trailer with steel framing. On the exterior, it features vinyl cladding and double-glazedย aluminumย windows. Likewise, the lightweight poplar core plywood interior linings give the house a warm look.
Like their previous builds, the โWai-Itiโ powered by the 16 amp on-grid caravan connection. Also, it prewired for future solar install when it goes completely off-the-grid. At the entrance, there is a living room with plenty of storage space. That includes a storage integrated sofa bed and a reading nook window seat with deep hidden storage underneath. After that, there is a good-looking kitchen with a built-in breakfast bar that seats two.
The kitchen also includes full-size appliances like a fridge/freezer, a four-burner propane-powered stove, washer & dryer combo, 2x pullout pantries, and some cabinetry. Further, thereโs a pocket cavity slider door that separates the bathroom from the kitchen. In the bathroom, there is a Natureโs Head composting toilet, glass shower, and a sink.
Above all, the storage integrated staircase in the living area will lead to the queen-sized loft bedroom with a skylight. Surprisingly, there is a built-in puppy crate under the stairs. Behind the bed, there is a dedicated small home office space with shelves, a desk, and a footwell to let the owner work comfortably. Build tiny doesnโt mention the cost of the build. But, according to their website, this build costs somewhere between $150,000-$170,000 NZD.
