28ft Bumper Pull Tiny House of a Future Nurse!

Nicole and her 7-year-old twins have been living in a 28-foot bumper-pull tiny house since the beginning of 2021. The house was built by a company called ‘Movable Roots’ and is located in California. However, From design to completion, the process took a few months. In the meantime, she took care of all her expenses herself.

Currently, Nicole works for the government and going to school to fulfill her long-held dream of becoming a NICU nurse. Before getting into the tiny lifestyle, Nicole has lived in a variety of places to save money, including a room for rent, an apartment, and most recently, her parents’ house/her childhood home.

“I have been dreaming – saving – planning (in that order) to have a THOW of my own. I don’t plan to ever get rid of it. It’s perfect. Being able to live a minimalist lifestyle on wheels is a travel junkies dream. I get to have a home for a fraction of the cost of traditional living, which lets me travel the globe with my kids more.”

She had never been happier than in the tiny house. Above all, she learns a lot about her tiny house thanks to TV programs. “I had seen them on TV shows such as HGTV, then I went to a tiny house event local to me. That’s when I knew I could definitely go tiny,” said Nicole.

About the tiny house

Let me give you a brief description of her teeny-tiny home. The house is based on a 28’ long 8.5’ wide triple axel trailer. The Exterior features a steel frame, spray foam insulation, gray metal roof, Ox-Is structural insulation by OX engineered products.

As for home appliances, there is a Furrion microwave, oven & 2 burner stovetop and a full-size refrigerator. From the inside, it is equipped with a shiplap interior and laminate flooring. In addition, the hexagon tile flooring bathroom has a Separett composting toilet and a 4’ long tiled shower.

“The best advice I could give would be to seriously go over your design. Make a wants vs needs list to start, and then think about what would work best functionally. The space really has to flow to your everyday life, and those who may be living in it with you.”

Dust is a common problem because all the appliances and furniture in a tiny home are sharing a tight space. In the same vein, Nicole also has some trouble with dealing with the dust. “The dust! It just populates SO fast! Also, things need to be put away right after using them or it can become cluttered-looking very quickly,” she said.

According to Nicole, the only thing that missing in the house is the TV mount. Once it is installed, the house will have the ideal lounging area for spending time with family. As I mentioned earlier, Nicole wants to be a travel nurse and bring her home with her everywhere she travels.

She also intends to buy a plot of land and park her house there. Further, Nicole was very thankful to the builder @movable_roots and the shipping company @onecalllogistics for transporting her bumper pull tiny house from Florida to California.
