Couple's Self-Build Timber Framed Tiny House Gives Financial Freedom!

Edwin & Clara Bobrycki find themselves living a life that leadsย โ€œrat raceโ€. Also, they want to find a way to be financially free. Consequently, they have decided to go tiny when they are paying rent and living in San Diego. However, after 1.5 years of planning and saving, they have started the construction work.

And it takes another 1.5 years to finish the house. This timber-framed tiny house based on the trailer from โ€˜Tiny House Basics Trailersโ€™. โ€œWe love our trailer. Itโ€™s extremely sturdy. There was never any concerns about whether it was going to last or work with our high demand,โ€ said Clara Bobrycki. Currently, their house located in the woods in Mountain Ranch, California.

If we had to give one piece of advice, it would be to prioritize. We got clear with the spaces we wanted to emphasize and revolved our home around that. In a tiny space you need to sacrifice. You donโ€™t want to sacrifice things though, that make life comfortable and are important to you.

With the help of friends and family, they have built their tiny house on their own. And it takes roughly $30,000 to complete the house. Surprisingly, they had a chance to harvest dead forest fire logs. That is to say, the timber frames of this house give a cozy look and ensure the environmental sustainability of this house.

Moreover, keeping the little place clean is pretty challenging for both of them. โ€œIt is really easy in a tiny space to get messy. If you donโ€™t put one item of clothing back, it can feel extremely congested and cluttered in the home. Also, when two people are living in a space, your mess becomes very clear, very quick,โ€ said Clara Bobrycki.

Meanwhile, their dream is to become nomadic. So, they are planning on renovating a Ram ProMaster and taking it up to Alaska to enjoy summer life. Apart from that, they are on the way to complete their blog to help others to achieve their tiny home dreams. Finally, everyone believes that going off-grid is pretty easy and cheap. That is a fact but not absolutely cheap. โ€œIf you are going off-grid, save up! Going off-grid is expensive. A lot of times it is romanticized as being cheaper. It is, in the long run. But the initial cost is exorbitant,โ€ said Clara Bobrycki. Yes!, you can join their adventurous journey by following them on their social media profiles (Instagram, youtube).
